All of the sounds used by BackSounds were captured by contributers to the Freesound project.  

 

All attributions and acknowledgements have been specified in accordance with the Creative Commons Licence agreement. 

 

The Freesound Project is an excellent resource for free sounds.

 

The samples used by BackSounds were put processed using the Goldwave digital audio editor.
 
 BackSounds supports two file formats:
  1. .ogg (Ogg Vorbis)
  2. .wav (Wave)
 

The preferred format is Ogg Vorbis (44100Hz, 128kbps (0.4q), stereo) as this provides the highest quality and compression ratio (i.e. the best sounding files in the smallest size possible!)
